Why Westminster?

At Westminster our aim is to provide an exceptional education for students, Early Learning to Year 12. When should I apply?

We recommend you secure a position at the school by completing your Application for Admission as soon as possible after your child’s birth. Lodgement of an Application also guarantees that you will receive regular communication from Westminster School.

Is it possible for my child to start straight away?

We accept applications for immediate commencement providing there are places available. The availability of places varies depending on the year level of entry. For information please contact the Enrolments Team, T +61 8 8276 0276, or via Email.

What age can my child start in the Westminster ELC?

Westminster offers Early Learning for children from the age of three. We offer two ELC intakes in Term 1 and Term 3. All children are required to be fully toilet trained, and ready for a full day program before attending the centre.

Does Westminster School offer a mid-year Reception intake?

Westminster remains committed to offering mid-year Reception intake to suit all birth dates. At Westminster we believe in working with our families to provide students with a smooth transition into school when they are ready to do so. As a guide, students who turn five years of age between 1 October and 30 April in the following year may commence Reception in Term 1. Students who turn five years of age between 1 May and 30 September may commence Reception in Term 3.

What additional documents do I need to provide to support my child’s application to Westminster School?

All families are requested to supply the following information with the Application Form:

  • Copy of applicant’s Birth Certificate
  • Copy of Passport and Visa (International Applicants)
  • Reports and/or assessments related to your child’s needs
  • Any special health, personal care requirements or agency support
  • Copy of most recent School/NAPLAN reports (Preparatory and Senior School Applications)
How are students prioritised for entry?

Applications are waitlisted and places offered subject to the following priorities:

  • Children of Old Scholars or Westminster staff;
  • Siblings of current Westminster School students;
  • Child attending Westminster School Early Learning Centre;
  • The date when the application is received;
  • Compassionate and special circumstances at the discretion of the Principal.
Can I change my mind about the intended year of entry?

Yes. If you wish to bring forward or defer entry for your child into Westminster, please notify the School in writing. The Enrolments Team will confirm receipt of the request and whether the transfer is possible. If we are unable to transfer the enrolment due to the year level being full, your child’s name will be placed on the waiting list for the transfer year in order of the application date.

Is there a School bus service?
