Getting to Westminster

Westminster School geographically is one of the largest schools in South Australia, sited on 23 hectares in the south-west suburb of Marion with the railway line, Sturt Creek and Alison Ave (running parallel to Marion Rd) as boundaries.

Quick reference to finding Westminster

If you are travelling from the city or from a northerly location, it means you will need to head in a south-westerly direction; travel west along Anzac Highway for 10 minutes and turn left onto Marion Road; travel south for 10 minutes; take either the fourth (Andrew Avenue) or fifth (Orkney Avenue) street on your right after the Oaklands Road/Daws Road intersection.

If you are travelling north on Marion Road, take the sixth or seventh street on your left after the Sturt Road intersection.

Westminster School is full of surprises for families getting to know it for the first time. One of these surprises is just how convenient it is for families to send their son or daughter to Westminster School. It is an easy drive from all parts of southern and western Adelaide. Other features include the beautiful grounds, working farm, extensive outdoor education facilities, performing and visual arts facilities, boarding facilities and many more. Westminster School prides itself on fitting into the weekly cycle of family life – increasingly important in today’s frenetic lifestyle.

To assist families, we have available/offer:

Our extensive grounds (57 acres or 23 hectares) and wonderful facilities allow students to do nearly all extra-curricular activities on the School grounds. Sports, including football, soccer, netball, tennis, table tennis, athletics, basketball, baseball, softball, cricket, hockey, swimming, volleyball, badminton, and other activities like dance, taekwondo, music tuition/ensemble, theatre sports, debating and chess are all played or practised on the School grounds, making transition without the need for parental supervision easy both before and after school. Many parents take advantage of the convenient extended day drop-off at 8.00 am and pick-up at 5.00 pm.

Westminster is within 2km of the end of the Southern Expressway, making it very convenient from the southern suburbs of Woodcroft, Morphett Vale, Onkaparinga Hills, Christies Beach, Seaford, Moana, Maslin Beach, Port Willunga and Aldinga, as well as those areas further afield, including the wine-growing region of McLaren Vale, McLaren Flat, Willunga and coastal towns of Goolwa, Port Elliot and Victor Harbor.

Currently, Westminster School students come from over 90 different suburbs around Adelaide. We have students attending the School from virtually all south western and southern suburbs and towns as well as many from the Adelaide Hills, the city and more. Prepare to be surprised at just how many other Westminster families are in your suburb!
